In a rain-hit T20 World Cup match at the Kensington Oval, Scotland's promising start against defending champions England ended in disappointment as the game was called off, with both teams sharing a point each.

Opting to bat first, Scotland's openers George Munsey and Michael Jones provided a strong foundation, finishing at 90/0 in their reduced 10-over innings. Munsey scored an unbeaten 41, while Jones remained not out on 45. Their partnership of 90 runs is now the second-highest for Scotland in T20 World Cups.

The match faced multiple interruptions due to rain, which ultimately led to its abandonment. Scotland capitalized on the early overs, with Munsey surviving a scare off a no-ball from Mark Wood and Jones scoring 15 off Chris Jordan in the last over of the powerplay. The revised DLS target set England to chase 109 runs in 10 overs.

However, continuous rain prevented any further play. Scotland captain Richard Berrington expressed frustration over not being able to defend their total, while England's Jos Buttler acknowledged the challenging conditions and expressed disappointment for both teams and the fans.

England remains winless against a European nation in T20 World Cup history. Both teams now look forward to their next fixtures, hoping for better weather and a full match.
