Dwayne Bravo Joins Afghanistan Cricket Team as Bowling Consultant for T20 World Cup 2024

Legendary West Indian all-rounder to share his experience with the Afghan squad

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed cricketing legend Dwayne Bravo as the Bowling Consultant for the national team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Bravo, a two-time T20 World Cup winner himself, will join the Afghan team during their training camp in the Caribbean.

The 40-year-old Bravo boasts an illustrious career, having represented the West Indies in 295 international matches across formats. He is a true all-rounder, contributing significantly with both bat and ball. Bravo holds the record for the most wickets (625) in T20 cricket, solidifying his reputation as one of the format's greatest fast-bowling all-rounders.

Bravo's influence extends beyond statistics. His unique style and passion for the game have garnered him worldwide admiration. He has been part of numerous championship-winning teams, including the T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, IPL, and CPL.

This isn't Bravo's first coaching stint. He recently served as the Bowling Coach for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.

The Afghanistan team, already in St. Kitts and Nevis, will commence a 10-day training camp overseen by the coaching staff, which now includes the experienced Dwayne Bravo. This collaboration is expected to significantly benefit the Afghan bowlers as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
